STEM Education

We can provide your organization or school a one-time introductory workshop, or weekly classes year-round as you need. Here are a few of STEMStart’s STEM Education Workshops:

STEM Hour
An hour-long hands-on session on the topics of science, technology, engineering, and math. Can be scaled for elementary and middle school students.

Scratch and Alice for Elementary School Students
Scratch and Alice are learning programs that help students understand logic and the basic concepts of programming in computer science. Full-day and half-day workshop options available at request.

Robotics Workshops (FLL and FTC)
FLL (or First Lego League) is a robotics class designed for 9-14 year-old students and is based on team work, research, and robot performance. FTC (or First Tech Challenge) is a similar but more competitive robotics development. Full-day and half-day workshop options available at request.

Red and Black BOE BOT Robotics 2-Day Camp
Curriculum requires low investment and allows students to fully comprehend electrical components (LED, resistors, diodes, IR sensors, bread board etc.), mechanical components (motors, cables etc.), software, printed circuit boards, and coding in a real programming environment that can create opportunities to learn deeper-level debugging and problem solving.
Hands-on training is provided to students during a 2-day boot camp at school or a local library. Students get to learn about programming, hardware, electrical components, their functionalities, and applications in building a robot. At the end of the boot camp, students culminate the session with a robot parade.

TSA (Technology Students Association) Jumpstart Kit
We initiated the TSA club at Eagle Ridge Middle School, which offers opportunities to learn and compete in 33+ STEM disciplines. We work with middle schools to start TSA clubs by providing them with TSA JumpStart kits.

Website Development
Get introduced to HTML or JavaScript (JS). Students learn how to design and build a webpage/site while working with interactive and creative elements. Full-day and full-week workshop options available at request.

JAVA and Python Programming
This is our basic training course designed to get students thinking about programming and development. It’s comprehensive and extensive (10-12 weeks).
